Jared Richardson, MD
Dr. Richardson received his undergraduate degree at Clemson University, and completed his formal medical training at Ross University. He completed his residency locally and is board certified in Family Medicine. He has been with UMA since 2021.
Dr Richardson’s background as a hospitalist has provided him with skill and experience to address medical concerns with a problem-focused, analytical perspective. His decision-making process takes into account the patient’s health goals, medical and medication history, alongside external lifestyle factors. While he does utilize a modern, research-based medical framework, Dr. Richardson’s t approach to health is to have minimal pharmaceutical support with a strong focus on preventative measures and healthy lifestyle habits.
Dr. Richardson strives to be informal, approachable and relatable to his patients. He wants each and every one of his patients to feel heard, and to empower them with autonomy over their health.
Nancy Smith, FNP-C
Nancy is a graduate of Clemson University and has been with UMA since 2008.
Her approach to medicine is evidence based and problem focused; she places great importance on addressing concerns in a holistic manner and encouraging patients to involve family and community support systems to achieve their healthcare goals. Nancy takes an “old-school” approach to medicine, making great efforts to provide each patient with personalized care plans and resources that can improve their lives beyond just the office visit.
Nancy has always been passionate about women’s health and helping women navigate changes across the lifespan. However, after experiencing recent cardiovascular health issues of her own, Nancy has spent an increasing amount of time dedicating herself to the research and treatment of cardiovascular illnesses.
In addition to her vast medical knowledge, Nancy also offers aesthetic services and is skilled in the use of laser to address a variety of cosmetic concerns.
In her time outside of the office, Nancy enjoys being “Mimi” and spending time with her family.
Jessica Jones, PA-C
Jessica is a graduate of North Greenville University PA school, and has been practicing at UMA since 2020.
Jessica’s approach to medicine is evidence-based with heavy emphasis on maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent serious illness, and to minimize the need for pharmaceutical intervention. She is passionate about helping patients meet their weight loss goals, placing emphasis on a good nutritional foundation and an active lifestyle. Jessica also has a keen interest in sports medicine.
Ali Lawing, FNP-C
Ali received her undergraduate degree at Clemson University and her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at USC. She has practiced at UMA since 2021.
After starting her medical career with five years in the emergency room, Ali brings a patient-guided, laid back approach to medicine. She strongly believes that the best outcomes are achieved by listening carefully to patients and taking a problem-focused approach to address concerns. Ali believes that treating patients like family is priority and essential to creating the trust required to provide good care.
In addition to her strong medical expertise, Ali is skilled in Aesthetics and provides Botox & Filler services to patients in the comfort and familiarity of our office. She loves making patients look and feel their best, and bringing out their inner glow!
Outside of the office, Ali loves spending her time with her family. She is married to her high-school sweetheart, and they have three children. Their oldest is 17 and a state-champion wrestler. They also have a 5 year old boy and 1 year old girl. Ali has well-rounded interests with a love for books, movies and makeup!
